YOUR ADVENTURE

Your ultimate AIDA Freediving Competition 2024, Day 1: Static Apnea Pirates AIDA Cup on 16 November in Dubai.

This Freediving Competition is composed of static, dynamic, and depth comps across all Freediving disciplines. Throughout 2024, athletes will compete in individual events for a chance to win prizes and own the Apnea Pirates AIDA Cup Trophy of the Year! The competition will consist of a number of ‘Meets’ staged by Freediving UAE, under the recognition of AIDA UAE. The best performance, combined with achievements in different disciplines, will determine the ultimate champions. Gaining points across the disciplines is key!

Each Meet will be staged over a week, every 3 months, totalling 5-6 events. Consisting of individual disciplines for male and female starts, with a total of 4 individual pool disciplines and 4 individual depth disciplines.

INCLUDES

Medals and prizes will go to:

• First male and female athletes in each discipline
• Highest overall ranked male and female athletes will be the recipients of the Apnea Pirates AIDA Cup Trophy of the Year

The winner of the Apnea Pirates AIDA 2024 Cup will be the male and female athletes with the highest overall points after completion of all Meets from the series, regardless of singular positions and rankings.

The Apnea Pirates AIDA 2024 Cup follows the traditional format of freediving competitions carried out under the latest AIDA rules; to be judged by Active AIDA International Judges with all performances throughout reflecting AIDA official rankings.

NEED TO KNOW

All athletes are required to:

• Book the relevant days of competition separately here
• Register for Apnea Pirates AIDA Cup on the AIDA International website and Freediving UAE
• Be 18+ years, or 16 with written parental consent
• A member of the AIDA National corresponding to your citizenship/passport
• Sign a medical certificate of non-contraindications to freediving, written in English. It can be in any form variation but must be signed by a medical doctor with contact information, dated no older than 1 year.
• Sign a Liability Release and Assumption of Risk, on the day
• For AIDA depth disciplines each athlete must accurately and honestly fill-in and sign an AIDA competition form

WHAT TO BRING

• Medical certificate of non-contraindications to freediving
• All of your gear, weights can be provided
• Written parental consent if you’re 16 to 18 years of age
• Your best performance.

ITINERARY

Each Meet may consist of Pool, Depth or all disciplines; following the same events programme and ceremonies, governed by AIDA 2024 rules and standards.

Saturday 16 November @ Hamdan Sports Complex

• Static apnea (STA)
• 25m indoor pool | Depth 1.3 m | Water temp 26 degrees

Other events, to be booked separately:

Sunday 17 November @ Hamdan Sports Complex

• Dynamic apnea with and / or without fins (DYN/DYNB/DNF)
• 25m indoor pool | Depth 3 m | Water temp 26 degrees

Saturday 23 November @ Deep Dive Dubai

• Constant weight with and / or without fins (CWT/CWTB/CNF)
• Free immersion (FIM)
• Max depth 58m | Water temperature 29-30 degrees. There will be 1 competition line and 2 warm up lines (17m and 30m) with adequate safeties.

Sunday 24 November @ Deep Dive Dubai

• Constant weight with and / or without fins (CWT/CWTB/CNF)
• Free immersion (FIM)
• Max depth 58m | Water temperature 29-30 degrees. There will be 1 competition line and 2 warm up lines (17m and 30m) with adequate safeties.
